Bye bye Husky Stadium

We said goodbye to husky stadium on Saturday. The huskies played their last game in their beloved stadium against Oregon on a cold crisp Autumn day.

Here are my thoughts...

Hi guys. First off: my apologies. I haven't blogged in awhile. I'm not really sure if I ever had any regular readers, but if I did, I'm sorry for not posting.

Life has been happening over on my end. I graduated from grad school and now I no longer bear the title of student. It's interesting though, how while I was in grad school, everything tanked. Job opportunities are quite slim. It's frustrating for me. I worked hard for 8 years assuming I was working towards something. But, nope. Unemployment is hitting me too. A new graduate with a doctorate has joined the large population of America's unemployed.

Trying very, very hard to keep my spirits up.

I think I will have more time to invest in my blog now.
I need to spruce somethings up over here. All the other bloggers have gotten so fancy. Wowza.

some guy set himself on fire today in the middle campus at the university of washington. i can't believe something so tragic could happen so near to me yet i JUST found out a few minutes ago. we get so caught up in our lives, so focused on our own problems, that we sometimes forget the struggles of others. i am truly shocked right now.

my nose doesn't work anymore

so, i can't breathe with my nose anymore. it just decided to stop working. it sucks. i don't know what the problem is, i don't have a cold/allergies or a stuffy nose. i remember watching oprah a while back and hearing about neti pots (nose bidets). they supposedly help with nasal problems. ever since being featured on the oprah show, there has been a spike in sales and they are now available at common places like walgreens and whole foods.

has anyone tried one of these? what do you think?

i'm a little timid to try it. it looks a bit...disgusting. but if works, i'm willing to give it a try. why not?

cindy mccain's $300,000 outfit

vanity fair estimates that cindy's outfit cost about $300,000 and laura's cost about $4,000.

i wonder how well cindy mccain and sarah palin are going to get along. wouldn't it be funny if good ole sarah ends up selling cindy's dress on ebay like she did with the jet?

btw, the luxury jet was listed at 2.5 million on ebay...but it didn't sell. it was eventually sold to a private buyer.

why do people refer to presidential candidate barack obama by his first name?...."barack will do this..." "barack will do that..."

you never hear people refer to senator mccain by his first name.

i feel that if people are comfortable saying barack, well then, they should also be comfortable referring to the other candidate by his first name.

ken smith of Bucks New University believes these spelling mistakes should be accepted as "variant spellings." he proposes that these words be included in the english language and no longer be viewed as wrong. supposedly, the misspelling of the word "judgment" as "judgement" has already been widely accepted as a variant spelling.

this sounds like a lazy person's excuse as to why they can't spell. sooner or later, if this trend keeps up, words like plz and thanx will also be accepted as variant spellings.

actually, i can think of a lot of things that could become the variant of its original.

a black bear got his head stuck in a jar. the poor thing wandered into town out of desperation and was eventually shot by police. how incredibly sad.

greatest american dog...waste of tv time.

this show is ridiculous. i understand people can get close to their dogs, but is it really necessary to have a show about owners and their pets? with the present state of the world and the economic struggle our country is facing, i just don't understand why this show is necessary.
